Advice, help and consultancy

As an experienced Mountain Guide and MIC Twid has travelled and worked in many places. He can provide information as advice or on a consultancy basis. He has contacts throughout the mountaineering world to help with Beta, Travel, Accommadtion and climbing equipment. Twid can offer advice on many Mountain related subjects.

• Mountain Training

Working at Plas Y Brenin for over 15 years he has ran and directed all Mountain based Qualifications. MIC, MIA,WML,SML and SPA. Through the Brenin, where he was head of MIC and Rock for many year, he has helped evolve all the above Qualifications. He is aSPA provider and is one of the few Instructors in the country who can Direct MIC, MIA and Winter Mountain Leader  courses. He has run many Assessor workshops for the training Boards over the years. He occasionally sits as a BMG representive on the Mountain Leader Training Board.

Rockclimbing Counsultancy

Twid has climbed all his life and for 24 years worked in the industry in centres and for himself as aN ifmga Guide. He has sat on BMC committees for Climbing Walls, Compatition Climbing, Welsh BMC Area and Expeditions. He presently sits on the BMC Expedition Committee and is a keen member of the North Wales Climbers Action Group. He can advise on any rockclimbing related subject from gear, instructing to  training.

Climbing Equipment

As an experienced MIC,Guide and climber has is fully familiar with all aspects of equipment use and abuse. He has strong links with http://www.dmmwales.co.uk/ the climbing gear Manufacture, who sponor him. Through DMM he helps with some gear testing and development. Twid always uses Mammut ropes for their quality and longlevity.

Mountaineering Clothing

Twid has worked closely with amny companies over the years to help develop reliable and tough wearing mountaineering clothing. He has worked with Karrimor, Mountain Equipment and for the last 6 years with http://www.mammut.ch/ who sponsor him and Louise. He has experience of Rucksac, waterproof and clothing desgns.

Mountain and Rock Boot Design

For over 15 years Twid has had links with http://www.boreal.eu/ the Spainish boot manufacture and has given them plenty of feedback on there mountain range of boots. Twid uses Latok ice climbing boots, Pamir Mountain Boots for general UK and Alps work and the Croz Boot for Big Wall and Alpine adventures. The G1 is his Big Mountain boot for cold climates
